Basketblobbers are monsters in Miitopia: Bringing the Party Back Together!. They are upgraded variants of Gelatinous Dudes.

Appearance[]

Much like Gelatinous Dudes, Basketblobbers are blue and wear non-Mii sunglasses. However, these monsters are humanoid with stretchy limbs. They wear orange shorts, shoes, a tank top, and a cap as sports gear. They appear to have hair, which is tied back by using the olive toothpick from their previous form. They carry a basketball that is actually a painted melon. They have Mii eyebrows and a mouth.

Actions[]

Action Description
Attack The Basketblobber attacks by rebounding their melonball off of a single target, catching it afterwards. If they have no ball, they will simply stretch out and slap a target.
Split Up! A move that cuts up the Basketblobber's stats to create another version of itself, but increases speed. These clones do not carry a ball. Basketblobber can only split into thirds because they have three face parts.
Melon Shot The Basketblobber fires a quick shot at one target, using the full power of the melonball. This attack is so fast that the Warning skill (and variants of such) is less likely to activate. If the battle goes on for long enough, the activation rate for the Warning skill will increase with each time the attack is used. Can't be used without a ball.
You SHALL Pass! The Basketblobber passes the melonball to an ally, transferring its attack power over in the process. If the ally is defeated, the original passer will regain the ball, otherwise, another Basketblobber will receive it. If all Basketblobbers are defeated, the melonball will be lost. Can't be used without a ball.

Trivia[]

  • Basketblobbers are based on Courtney, the blue blob featured in Rhythm Heaven Megamix's Fruit Basket minigame. This is alluded to by their blue colors, the Melon Shot, and the ability to drop Fruit-based grub.
  • If a party member without a weapon attacks an enemy holding a melonball, the enemy will drop the ball and automatically lose it for good. This is an extremely rare occurrence in story mode, but is seen in favors a little more frequently.
